A small, focused project for typing in অসমীয়া
AssameseKeyboard.com is an independent, ad-supported website that offers free browser-based tools for the Assamese language — a virtual keyboard, English-to-Assamese transliteration, typing practice, text utilities, calculators and reference charts. No sign-up, no installs, no paywalls.
What we do
We build small, single-purpose tools that solve common Assamese typing problems for students, government staff, writers, journalists, bloggers and anyone using অসমীয়া online. Every tool runs in your browser using standard Unicode, so the output works in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, WhatsApp, Facebook, email and any other modern app.
What you'll find here
- A virtual InScript keyboard you can click or type on
- English-to-Assamese phonetic typing (transliteration)
- Typing practice to improve speed and accuracy
- Text utilities — word counter, formatter, cleaner, reverser, text-to-PDF and more
- Practical calculators — age, EMI, CGPA, HSLC/AHSEC percentage
- Reference charts — alphabet, numbers, months
Why we built it
Typing in Assamese online can still be unnecessarily hard. Many existing tools require downloads, paid software, outdated fonts, or apps that don't run on every device. We wanted a single place where anyone — on any computer or phone, with no setup — could open a page and start typing in অসমীয়া straight away.
The goal isn't to be the biggest Assamese website. It's to keep a small set of useful tools working well, loading quickly, and staying free.
Our principles
We're a small team, so we focus on a few things rather than chasing every feature. If something is broken or missing, we want to hear about it.
A note on privacy
Most of our tools process your text entirely inside your browser — nothing is sent to a server. The one current exception is the Assamese Grammar Checker, which sends your text to an external AI service to generate suggestions. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
