1. Quick summary

AssameseKeyboard.com ("we", "us", "our") operates this website. We try to keep things simple:

• We do not ask you to sign up or create an account.
• Most of our tools run entirely in your browser — your text never leaves your device.
• We use Google Analytics (or a similar privacy-friendly analytics tool) to understand which pages are visited.
• We show ads. Ad networks may set their own cookies. See section 5.
• The Assamese Grammar Checker is the one exception — it sends your text to an external AI service to generate suggestions.

2. Information we collect

We collect a small amount of standard technical information automatically, the same way most websites do:

• Log data — your IP address, browser type, operating system, the page you visited, the page you came from, and the date/time of the visit. This is used to keep the site running, prevent abuse, and produce aggregate usage statistics.
• Analytics data — pageviews, approximate location (country/region), device type, and how you navigate the site. We use this to understand which tools are useful and which pages have problems.
• Information you choose to provide — if you email us or use the contact form, we receive the message and any details you include.

3. Information we do not collect

• We do not require accounts, so we don't collect names, passwords, or profile information.
• We do not store the text you type into our tools on our servers (with the one third-party exception explained in the next section).
• We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to third parties.

4. How our tools process your text

This is the part most people care about, so we want to be specific:

Tools that run entirely in your browser

The following tools process text using JavaScript in your own browser. Your text is not sent to our servers, stored, or seen by us:

• Assamese Virtual Keyboard
• English-to-Assamese Typing (transliteration)
• Typing Practice
• Word Counter, Text Formatter, Text Cleaner, Text Reverser, Text Repeater
• Duplicate Word Finder, Keyword Density Checker, String Extractor
• All calculators (Age, EMI, CGPA, HSLC/AHSEC %)
• Alphabet, Number and Months charts
• Countdown Timer, Nickname Generator
• Text-to-PDF (PDF is generated inside your browser)

Tools that use a third-party service

The Assamese Grammar Checker sends the text you submit to an external AI service (Google's Gemini API) to generate grammar and spelling suggestions. By using that tool, you agree to your text being processed by that third-party service under their own terms and privacy policy. Do not paste confidential or sensitive information into the grammar checker.

5. Third-party services we use

• Google Analytics (or a similar analytics tool) — to measure traffic and improve the site. Analytics providers may set cookies in your browser.
• Google AdSense (or another advertising network) — to show ads that help keep the site free. Ad providers may use cookies and other technologies to show ads relevant to your interests across the web. You can manage personalised ad settings via Google Ad Settings.
• Google Fonts and Font Awesome (CDN) — to render fonts and icons. These services may receive standard request information (such as your IP address) when your browser loads them.
• Google Gemini API — used only by the Assamese Grammar Checker, as described above.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use a small number of cookies and browser local-storage entries for:

• Remembering your preferences (such as keyboard layout or theme) on the device you're using.
• Analytics and advertising (set by the third parties listed above).

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so may reset your preferences.

7. Children's privacy

Our tools are suitable for general audiences, including students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under India's DPDP Act, the EU GDPR, or similar laws), you may have the right to:

• Request a copy of personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete personal information.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent for analytics or advertising cookies (usually via your browser settings).

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, when we add a new tool or change a third-party service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Significant changes will be noted on the homepage.
