1. Agreement to terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your use of AssameseKeyboard.com and all tools, pages and content available on it (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What we offer

AssameseKeyboard.com provides free, browser-based tools for typing and working with the Assamese language — including a virtual keyboard, transliteration, typing practice, text utilities, calculators and reference charts. The Service is supported by advertising.

3. Permitted use

You may use the Service for any lawful personal, educational, professional or commercial purpose. You may:

• Use the tools to produce Assamese text and use that text however you like.
• Link to any page on the Service from your own website, blog, video or document.
• Recommend the Service to students, colleagues, family and friends.

4. Prohibited use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to create or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, hateful, defamatory, obscene, or violates anyone's rights.
• Attempt to break, disrupt, overload, scrape at an abusive rate, or reverse-engineer the Service.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers other than standard search engine crawlers) without permission.
• Re-host, mirror, or republish substantial portions of the Service or its content as if it were your own product.
• Remove or obscure any copyright, branding, or attribution notices.
• Interfere with or bypass any security or rate-limiting measures.

5. Your content and text

Text you type or paste into our tools remains yours. Most tools process your text entirely in your own browser and we do not see it. For the one tool that sends text to a third party (the Grammar Checker), see section 6 and our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the content you type, paste, or generate using the Service, and for how you use the resulting output.

6. Third-party tools (grammar checker)

The Assamese Grammar Checker uses a third-party AI service (Google Gemini API) to generate suggestions. By using it, you also agree to that provider's terms. Suggestions are generated by an AI model and may be wrong; review them before applying. Do not submit confidential or sensitive information.

7. Intellectual property

The AssameseKeyboard.com name, logo, website design, written content, code and original graphics are owned by us and protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify or reuse them without permission, except as allowed under fair use / fair dealing or as expressly permitted in these Terms.

Standard Unicode characters, the Assamese script itself, and references to the InScript layout are not owned by us — they are public standards.

8. Service availability

We try to keep the Service running smoothly, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change, suspend or remove tools at any time without prior notice — usually to improve the Service, fix bugs, or because a tool is no longer maintained.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the output of any tool (including translations, transliterations, grammar suggestions, calculations, or generated PDFs) will always be accurate or fit for a specific purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AssameseKeyboard.com and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue or profits arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Assam, India, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law in your country of residence.
